Ola familia!!! Como estam???
I freaking love you guys!
This week has been amazing. seriously, completely incredible.
Our district is having so much fun together and the MTC is getting easier to cope with. Ok, the biggest things about this week are really cool. Are you ready for them?
1. In case you somehow weren't aware, I sang in the MTC choir in General Conference. You guys. I was in the same room as the prophet and ALL OF THE GENERAL AUTHORITIES. It was seriously the most wonderful once in a lifetime experiences ever. It was so amazing. I'm sorry if this description is kind of redundant because I can’t think of how else to describe it.
The members of the 70 all congratulated us and were turning around to look at us while we sang. It was so cool! I hope you all loved conference. The talks were so amazing and I loved every minute of it. Thank you all for the Dear Elders saying you saw me and thank you so much Jen for sending me the picture!! It was way cool. We all came back and watched the session online to see ourselves and I was so glad I was on the aisle so people could see me!
OK number 2. so as I've told you guys, one of my teachers is my Mission Presidents' son. Well, earlier last week, the OTHER teacher told us Brother Torgan's dad would be in town for Conference which is weird since they're not supposed to leave the mission area. So we get to the session of Conference to sing, and I'm sitting there and they announce the new members of the 70. Moroni B Torgan was announced. So even though he’s getting released in July, he's still our mission president for a while and now he's also a general authority of the church. HOLY GOODNESS. There have been so many remarkable things like that and awesome cool coincidences so far.
So we came back and we were talking a lot about how cool that is.
Then. after dinner yesterday we were getting ready to go to the section of class where we teach our investigators but when we walked into the hall Brother Torgan was there in his suit and we were really confused and then I got this awful sinking feeling and I was like "no!!!! no he did not!!"
HE BROUGHT HIS PARENTS TO MEET US. Just in case you guys aren't aware, this kind of thing DOESN'T HAPPEN. We got to meet our Mission President! It was so scary until I walked in the door and saw them and they were so sweet and had the best and strongest spirit about them. We gave Sister Torgan a big hug and it was so amazing to get a mother's hug. I felt like I was hugging you, Mama Dean. I miss you but it was a great tender mercy. You can really tell that they already love us. President Torgan talked to us for a while while Brother Torgan translated.
He shared some scriptures with us and told us about the prophecy that was given that Portugal would be the lighthouse of converting all of Europe. It’s so true, last month Portugal had 130 baptisms and the second highest baptizing country only had 40. How amazing is that! President Torgan testified that we are going to be a vital part of that and I felt such a strong confirmation that despite how random it seemed, Portugal really is where I need to go. It is such an honor to be chosen for that mission and it revitalized my excitement to get out in the field. It was amazing!
Other than that, everything seemed kind of boring in comparison. Ha, ha but no, it’s been a really good week. Really funny too. In one of our lessons Irma Barlow accidentally said the Christ was our avocado instead of our advocate. I love her. The investigator started cracking up.
I seriously love you all so much and I wish I could give you guys giant hugs. I’m feeling so much happier and having a fantastic time and trying really hard to get better at the language and at teaching. Keep the letters coming! I love hearing from you guys!
I love you guys and I miss you so much!!!
